The tools you pick run one after another on the same file, in a single guided flow. Scalebar works out the correct processing order for you (for example, unlocking a password protected PDF always happens first, and splitting or converting to images always happens last), no matter the order you clicked them in. At each step you just configure that tool's settings and move on to the next one, then download the final file once you have gone through all of them.

It saves your current tool selection (not a specific file) as a small file on your computer, so you can reuse it later instead of reselecting the same combination of tools every time you have a similar job. You can also load a workflow you saved before to instantly restore that same selection.

It switches the tool cards into direct links: clicking a tool card takes you straight to that tool's own specialized page, so you can run it separately on several files one at a time, instead of building a combined flow for a single file.

No. Every tool runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded or sent anywhere, whether you use one tool or chain several together.

Yes. At any point you can use the wizard's back option to return to the tool selection screen and change which tools you have chosen. If you want to keep a copy of the file at a specific step, you can download it from that step before continuing.

How the combined pipeline works
